Are “All Options on the Table” Really? Or Really!

February 28, 2012 Leave a comment

Want to buy a ticket to the Obama administration’s semi-satirical Iran Nuclear Kabuki Theater show entitled “All Options are on the Table!”?

If ALL options are on the table (aka as a last resort the U.S. would use military force to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon) then why is the Pentagon’s senior brass trotting out in public to undercut the White House… thus undermining the threat’s credibility even if the U.S. just won’t use force to deny Iran the pleasure of a nuclear device. The Iranian Countdown

February 28, 2012 Leave a comment

How many times does Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and its president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, have to publicly and loudly say that they intend to “wipe Israel off the map” and otherwise annihilate its Jewish population before the world takes seriously the murderous intent of Iran?

How many negotiations between United Nations Atomic Agency personnel and how much deliberate obfuscation and refusal to cooperate will it take before the world admits it is dealing with raving lunatics when it comes to the leaders of Iran?

In late February Ayatollah Khamenei, at meeting with Iran’s nuclear scientists, said “Pressures, sanctions, and assassinations will bear no fruit. No obstacles can stop Iran’s nuclear work.” Read more…

Henry Kissinger, the most famous living practitioner of international statecraft

NEW YORK – USA – In a remarkable admission by former Nixon era Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, reveals what is happening at the moment in the world and particularly the Middle East.

Speaking from his luxurious Manhattan apartment, the elder statesman, who will be 89 in May, is all too forward with his analysis of the current situation in the world forum of Geo-politics and economics.

“The United States is baiting China and Russia, and the final nail in the coffin will be Iran, which is, of course, the main target of Israel. We have allowed China to increase their military Read more…

Military planners have asked for emergency funding from Congress to address a perceived shortfall in defence capabilities that could undermine the ability of US forces to respond to an Iranian closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the Wall Street Journal quoted American officials as saying.

Gen James Mattis, the head of the US Central Command, has privately informed Congress of his intentions to place mine detection and clearing equipment in and around the Strait and to boost surveillance capabilities in the Gulf. Read more…

Iran military official: Only burning White House can make up for burning Koran

February 25, 2012 1 comment

The Muslim world should not accept an apology issued by U.S. President Barack Obama over the burning of Korans in an American base in Afghanistan, a top Iranian military commander said on Saturday, adding that nothing short of “burning the White House can relieve the wound of us.”

Obama’s Thursday apology in a letter to Afghan President Hamid Karzai sought to quell spiraling furor among Afghans, who have been protesting the act for five straight days, after Afghan workers found charred copies of the Muslim holy book on a military base near Kabul. Read more…

In the wake of President Barack Obama sending a three-page letter to Afghan President Hamid Kharzai, apologizing for U.S. forces having mistakenly burned some Qur’ans at a U.S. air base in Afghanistan, the Taliban is calling on Muslims to kill Americans or beat them and take them as prisoners.

The call for violence against U.S. troops in Afghanistan came as Muslims in South Asia and elsewhere prepared for Friday prayers–a potentially volatile time. Read more…

US Undercover Effort to Stall Israeli Strike against Iran

The first seeds of the US-Israel fall-out on Iran were sown six months ago. They were planted at the United Nations – paradoxically in the middle of a rare honeymoon

PM Netanyahu & President Obama

It was September 21, 2011, and Barak Obama had just delivered one of the warmest pro-Israel speeches ever heard from a serving US President at the General Assembly. For good measure, Washington leaked reports of a secret shipment of 55 heavy US GBU-37 bunker busters to Israel. Obama also promised to veto Mahmoud Abbas’ unilateral application for UN recognition of Palestinian statehood when it came before the UN Security Council. Read more…

Despite public denials, military preparations for intervention in the horrendous Syrian crisis are quietly afoot in Washington, Paris, Rome, London and Ankara. President Barack Obama is poised for a final decision after the Pentagon submits operational plans for protecting Syrian rebels and beleaguered populations from the brutal assaults of Bashar Assad’s army, DEBKAfile’s Washington sources disclose.

This process is also underway in allied capitals which joined the US in the Libyan operation that ended Muammar Qaddafi’s rule in August, 2011. They are waiting for a White House decision before going forward. Read more…

WASHINGTON – The recent veto by Russia and China of U.S. efforts in the United Nations Security Council to condemn the Syrian regime of President Bashar al-Assad for its violent treatment of protesters has escalated tensions between the United States and Russia, which seeks to maintain its influence in the Middle East by protecting al-Assad, according to a report in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

It is apparent now that the United States wants al-Assad ousted as a way to diminish the influence of Syrian ally Iran in the Middle East.

Russia, on the other hand, has serious equities in protecting the Read more…

After a high-ranking US delegation headed by White House National Security Adviser Tom Donilon failed in three days of tough talks (Feb.18-20) to dissuade Israeli leaders to back off plans for a military strike against Iran’s nuclear sites, the White House invited Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for talks with President Barak Obama on March 5. He will try and break the stalemate which ended his advisers’ talks with Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz.

A nuclear Iran: Netanyahu’s ‘Churchill Moment’ Looms Dangerously Close

February 20, 2012 Leave a comment

With Iran less than a year away from full nuclear capability, and the Ahmadinejad regime unbowed by the West’s strategy of ever-harsher sanctions, the window for avoiding a Middle Eastern catastrophe is closing. While British and US diplomats scrambled to avert the crisis on the weekend, Israel’s Benyamin Netanyahu watched his self-determined fate as “the new Winston Churchill” unfold before his eyes. How worried should we be?

The two portraits that adorn the office of Benyamin Netanyahu say a lot about what the world can expect of the Israeli Read more…
