Releasing billions of dollars to the Iranian Mullahs will not only increase their funding of terrorist activities in the Middle East and beyond, but more importantly the resulting political instability will exacerbate the human migration tragedy that is taking place today. Obama is looking like a tragically weak game theorist. He thinks that he can achieve successful outcomes in international affairs by using all carrots and no sticks. It won’t work against enemies who are prepared to use both. Unless he rethinks his self-imposed limits on the use of force, the bill for his mismanagement will come due, and everyone will pay the price—during his term and beyond. [DID]

Sunday, the director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Yukiya Amano, arrived in Iran for talks on the nuclear agreement, as part of what appears to be an attempt by the UN nuclear watchdog to evaluate whether Iran ran a military nuclear program in the past.

Amano is expected to meet with various Iranian nuclear scientists for answers on this very subject. On December 15, ahead of the lifting of crippling economic sanctions on Tehran, he is slated to present the world with definitive answers that will determine whether Iran complied with the terms of a nuclear deal signed on July 15. But the Islamic Republic is not waiting for a green light from Amano or the international community, and is working under the assumption that the sanctions will be lifted.

Since the deal was signed, Iran has significantly increased its financial support for two of the largest terror groups in the region that have become political players, Hamas and Hezbollah. In the years before the deal was signed, the crippling sanctions limited this support, which had significantly diminished along with Iran’s economy. But Tehran’s belief that tens, or hundreds, of billions of dollars will flow into the country in the coming years as a result of sanctions relief has led to a decision to boost the cash flow to these terror organizations. Iranian Mullahs Deploys Forces to Fight al Qaeda-Inspired Militants in Iraq

The DID commentary on the articlethe Terrorist IRI Regime Becomes an Ally of US to Fight Against Al-Qaeda, dated January 07, 2014 made a mockery of the scenario, in which Iranian Mullahs find themselves very much aligned with Washington to fight against Al-Qaeda, here are the script:

You may laugh it out loud because it is more like a joke, but it is not!

It wasn’t too far back that US State Department has described Iran as an “active State sponsor of terrorism”. In fact United States has Listed Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization and has penalized most of its leaders. But now that the United States has become embarrassed internationally due to its confounded Mideast foreign policy run by an incapable and inefficient President and its administration, the Iranian theocratic terrorist regime becomes a cooperative friend in the region that can help U.S. to fight Al Qaeda!!

Why not? Before, the IRI terrorists has helped U.S. in Iraq and Afghanistan to convert those countries into war zones as the world has witnessed. The exit of US forces from Iraq was actually a boost for the IRGC to spread turmoil in the area, then it came the inaction of US on Syrian crisis for almost 3 years, another boost for the IRGC to turn the region upside down. And now the apocalyptic Mullahs are getting prepared to launch the sectarian war that US has impatiently been waiting for. Be ready for the U.S.-made Armageddon in the Middle East, to be played by its puppets, the IRI and the Al-Qaeda!! GO FIGURE. [DID]

The Obama administration is presumably to step up shipments of material support to Iraq. Iranian mullahs on the other hand are sending their IRGC terrorist militias to Iraq to get into the fight with ISIS groups, to safeguard the Shiite shrines.  Now seems like all the ingredients are prepared for the ridiculous fantasy to become a reality. Soon the puppets Apocalyptic Iranian Mullahs, close-to-be-fallen Nouri Al Maliki, and the doom-laden ISIS, under the control of the puppeteer Uncle Sam, will turn Iran, Iraq, and the region into a Syria-like ruins. [DID]

BEIRUT—The threat of Sunni extremists eclipsing the power of its Shiite-dominated Arab ally presents Iran with the biggest security and strategic challenge it has faced since the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.

With the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, an offshoot of al Qaeda, rapidly gaining territory, Iran deployed Revolutionary Guards units to Iraq, according to Iranian security officials.

Iran has invested considerable financial, political and military resources over the past decade to ensure Iraq emerged from U.S. war as a strategic partner for the Islamic Republic and a strong Shiite-led state. The so-called Shiite crescent—stretching from Iran to Iraq, Lebanon and Syria—was forged largely as a result of this effort.

Two Guards’ units, dispatched from Iran’s western border provinces on Wednesday, were tasked with protecting Baghdad and the holy Shiite cities of Karbala and Najaf, these security sources said. Read more…

The Slow Death of the Old Global Order

In the spring of 2012, The National Interest produced a special issue under the rubric of “The Crisis of the Old Order: The Crumbling Status Quo at Home and Abroad [3].”The thesis was that the old era of relative global stability, forged through the crucibles of the Great Depression and World War II, was coming unglued. In introducing the broad topic to readers, TNI editors wrote, “Only through a historical perspective can we fully understand the profound developments of our time and glean, perhaps only dimly, where they are taking us. One thing is clear: they are taking us into a new era. The only question is how much disruption, chaos and bloodshed will attend the transition from the Old Order to whatever emerges to replace it.” Read more…

Time for Obama to Face Global Realities

President Obama:The-Obama-Doctrine

Last week, you were super-busy in Europe, warning Vladimir Putin not to invade eastern Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Moscow’s takeover of Crimea is a done deal, and there’s even more worrying stuff going on elsewhere. Your CIA chief, John Brennan, just told a House panel that al-Qaeda central is now using Syrian territory to train Western jihadis to attack Europe and America.

In Afghanistan (remember Afghanistan?), Taliban bombers are threatening this week’s elections. They are getting help from the intelligence services of our supposed ally Pakistan even as we prepare to exit the country. Equally worrying, the Pakistani Taliban are wreaking havoc inside nuclear-armed Pakistan, whose government has no apparent strategy to counter them – except to beg for peace.

A New World Order? Think Again

Russia’s storming of the Ukrainian naval base in Crimea just as Iran and world powers wrapped up another round of negotiations in Vienna earlier this week represent david-rockefellerseemingly contradictory bookends to a world that some believe is spinning out of control.

It’s hard not to argue that the world seems a bit trigger-happy these days. Vladimir Putin’s Russian mafia thugs armed with weapons bought with oil money calmly annex the Crimea. Chinese warships ominously circle obscure shoals in the Western Pacific as Japan and other countries look on nervously. Israel and Hezbollah appear eager to settle scores and start another war in Lebanon. Syria and Libya continue their descent into a medieval-like state of nature as the world looks on not quite knowing what to do. Read more…

Angelina Jolie Visits Syrian Children in Lebanon

February 24, 2014 Leave a comment

Superstar Jolie has received wide recognition for her humanitarian work. In 2001 on her motives for joining UNHCR she said: “We cannot 1437956close ourselves off to information and ignore the fact that millions of people are out there suffering. I honestly want to help. I don’t believe I feel differently from other people. I think we all want justice and equality, a chance for a life with meaning. All of us would like to believe that if we were in a bad situation someone would help us.” You Go Angelina [DID]

Actress and U.N. special envoy Angelina Jolie made a surprise visit to Lebanon to draw attention to the challenges facing thousands of Syrian refugee children and to highlight the massive displacement Syria’s three-year conflict has created, officials said Monday.

During a three-day visit, Jolie visited unaccompanied children living in the eastern Bekaa Valley, where much of the poorest Syrian refugees in Lebanon reside, as the United Nations Refugee Agency Special Envoy. The 3,500 children are those who were orphaned, or separated from their families as they fled into Lebanon.

They form part of the nearly one-third of all Syrians who have been displaced from their homes since an uprising against the President Bashar Assad began in March 2011. About 2.5 million Syrians have become refugees; and another 4.2 million are displaced within Syria, the U.N. estimates — some one-third of the country’s pre-war population. Read more…

World Powers led by Uncle Sam have Turned the Middle East into the Arsenal of New Weapons

February 5, 2014 Leave a comment

Weapons are pouring into the Middle East at an unprecedented rate. The Pentagon recently announced that it would sell six tilt-rotor Osprey aircraft to Israel for $1.3 1billion, American hardware (including Apache helicopters) is being rushed to the Iraqi government to help in its battle against al Qaeda, and Washington has also restored military aid to Egypt after a brief hiatus. But Uncle Sam isn’t the only one delivering weapons to the region: Hezbollah has acquired parts of Russia’s supersonic Yakhont missiles, which can strike vessels more than 75 miles off the coast of Lebanon, and Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assadcontinues to receive significant stockpiles of weapons from both Moscow and Tehran.

These may appear to be piecemeal acquisitions, but these and other new weapons are actively changing the military dynamic in the Middle East. Read more…

Iran and the Syria Model

From the Syria debacle, Iran has learned that our threats are empty and posturing as a “moderate” works. Iran and Syria model

When — not if — is the only mystery about an Iranian nuclear bomb.

All the warning signs are there.

‘Game Changers’

In 2008, presidential candidate Barack Obama on two occasions went out of his way to warn the Iranians that the development of a nuclear weapon “would be a game-changing situation, not just in the Middle East, but around the world.” Obama later added, “It is unacceptable for Iran to possess a nuclear weapon; it would be a game changer.”

Strong language. And Obama twice this year again used “game changer” in reference to Syrian dictator Bashar Assad, warning him not to dare use chemical weapons. Read more…

Al-Qaeda’s Plan to Swallow Israel, Lebanon & Syria

September 30, 2013 1 comment

Al Nusra Front, Al Qaeda’s official arm in Syria, is quickly entrenching itself in the north and east of Syria, where the Assad regime’s rule has collapsed. Jihad will spread outwards to 268the region, then threaten global security — possibly with biological and chemical weapons.

Al Qaeda is quickly constructing its main regional Middle East base in Syria, from where it plans to export terrorism and Islamic radicalism to neighboring states, then to the West, a new report released by an Israeli security research institute warned.

The jihadis later aspire, according to the report, to turn “Greater Syria” — an old geographic term encompassing Syria, Lebanon, Israel and the Palestinian territories — into an Islamic caliphate. Read more…

Iran, Syria and Hezbollah have set up a joint situation room in preparation for a potential US-led strike in Syria, with Hezbollah mobilizing “tens of thousands” of fighters for the occasion.

The military operations coordination between the three is meant to plan for the monitoring of targets and organizing of retaliation, the Lebanese Daily Star reported Friday, citing senior Lebanese political and diplomatic sources.

“Iran, Syria and Hezbollah don’t have a clear picture about what Americans have planned,” said one diplomat,“but [they] too are prepared for various scenarios.” Read more…

The Sarin Shells Fired on Damascus – by Syrian 4th Division’s 155th Brigade …………..

The sarin shells fired on Damascus – by Syrian 4th Division’s 155th Brigade – were followed by rockets on Israel and car bombings in Lebanon. chemical-weaponsSyria12.12

In the space of 48 hours, the Assad regime, Iran and Hizballah launched a three-point offensive against foreign intervention, DEBKAfile reports. Here are some facts: The sarin nerve gas atrocity of Wednesday, Aug. 21, alleged to have claimed more than 1,000 lives, was the work of the 155th Brigade of the Syrian army’s 4th Division, headed by President Bashar Asad’s younger brother Gen. Maher Assad.

The poison gas shells were fired from the big Mount Kalmun army base south of Damascus, one of the three repositories of Syria’s chemical weapons. In response to a demand from Moscow last December, Assad collected his chemical assets in three depots. The other two are Dummar, a suburb 5 kilometers outside Damascus, and the Al-Safira air base, west of Aleppo. Read more…
